區域介紹

The island’s capital is Argostoli, a neat and pleasant town filled with cafes, restaurants and bars. Take a seat at Ampelaki Restaurant, a little gem that combines the best quality ingredients with a passion for Kefalonian and Greek cuisine, or take your pick from the bustling cafes crowding the main square, Platia Valiianou.

Kefalonia’s coastline is dotted with secret beaches, ranging from soft and sandy to wild and rocky. Most of the beaches are quiet, even in the peak summer months, with plenty of natural shade provided by pine tree forests stretching down to the shoreline.

A morning at the picture-perfect Myrtos Beach, with its unbelievably soft sand and turquoise waters, is a sublime experience never to be forgotten.

Nature lovers can look out for the protected loggerhead turtles that creep ashore each night to lay their precious eggs, as well as the highly endangered monk seal, which plays in the warm waters around the coastline.

The most iconic settlement on the island is Fiscardo, the ‘St Tropez of Kefalonia’. This small fishing village was the only settlement not destroyed by the 1953 earthquake and retains its picturesque charm and examples of the island’s original Venetian architecture. Transforming into a yachters’ paradise come summer, the numerous tavernas lining its small harbour make the perfect setting for a long, leisurely lunch with a side of people-watching.

positioned within the landscape of southern kefalonia, aurelis is a contemporary coastal villa designed around openness, privacy and long views across the ionian sea. set on a 2,120 sqm (22,819 sq.ft.) plot surrounded by low mediterranean vegetation and rolling hills, the property combines clean architectural lines with expansive outdoor living areas, creating a calm and highly functional retreat close to the island’s coastline.

the villa spans 400 sqm (4,305 sq.ft.) and is arranged to maximise light and orientation throughout the day. large floor-to-ceiling openings frame uninterrupted views across the surrounding countryside toward the sea, while the elevated position allows the interiors to remain bright and naturally ventilated during the summer months. the architecture is intentionally restrained, using crisp white surfaces, pale stone finishes and reflective materials that respond softly to the changing light outside.

arrival at the property is discreet, through a gated entrance that opens onto broad terraces and landscaped outdoor areas. the main living space unfolds as a single open-plan volume connecting the sitting area, dining space and kitchen. full-width sliding glass doors allow the interior to extend directly onto the pool terrace, creating a continuous relationship between the house and its surroundings. white marble-effect floors, minimal detailing and carefully integrated lighting reinforce the villa’s contemporary atmosphere without feeling overly formal.

the kitchen is fully integrated into the living space, finished with clean-lined cabinetry, pale surfaces and subtle brass details. positioned beside the dining area and outdoor terraces, it functions equally well for daily use or extended summer stays. morning light moves across the interior throughout the day, while the glazing keeps the sea and hillside views present from almost every principal room.

all five bedrooms are arranged as private suites, each with its own en suite bathroom and direct access to natural light and exterior views. the bedrooms continue the same restrained material palette seen throughout the house, combining soft neutral tones with understated finishes and carefully framed openings toward the landscape. several suites open directly onto terraces, allowing the sea air and surrounding greenery to become part of the experience of the rooms themselves.

the outdoor spaces are designed around the large infinity-edge pool, which stretches across the central terrace toward the distant coastline. sunken loungers, shaded seating areas and wide paved terraces create multiple places to sit throughout the day, whether in full sun or under cover. a separate outdoor dining area sits beside the pool, positioned for long evenings outside as the light fades over the hills. the property also includes a private basketball court and fitness facilities, adding a more active dimension to the estate without interrupting its overall sense of calm.

despite its contemporary architecture, aurelis remains closely connected to its setting. the villa sits low against the landscape rather than dominating it, while planted areas and surrounding open land preserve both privacy and uninterrupted views. from the terraces, the eye moves across fields, olive groves and distant water rather than neighbouring development, giving the property a notably quiet atmosphere.

kefalonia’s beaches, villages and waterfront tavernas remain within easy reach, yet the villa retains a strong sense of separation from busier summer areas. the combination of scale, privacy and modern infrastructure also makes the property suitable for extended seasonal use or high-end rental investment.

as evening approaches, the terraces soften under low lighting and the pool reflects the last colours moving across the ionian horizon, while the hills behind the villa fall gradually into shadow.
