區域介紹

The island’s capital is Argostoli, a neat and pleasant town filled with cafes, restaurants and bars. Take a seat at Ampelaki Restaurant, a little gem that combines the best quality ingredients with a passion for Kefalonian and Greek cuisine, or take your pick from the bustling cafes crowding the main square, Platia Valiianou.

Kefalonia’s coastline is dotted with secret beaches, ranging from soft and sandy to wild and rocky. Most of the beaches are quiet, even in the peak summer months, with plenty of natural shade provided by pine tree forests stretching down to the shoreline.

A morning at the picture-perfect Myrtos Beach, with its unbelievably soft sand and turquoise waters, is a sublime experience never to be forgotten.

Nature lovers can look out for the protected loggerhead turtles that creep ashore each night to lay their precious eggs, as well as the highly endangered monk seal, which plays in the warm waters around the coastline.

The most iconic settlement on the island is Fiscardo, the ‘St Tropez of Kefalonia’. This small fishing village was the only settlement not destroyed by the 1953 earthquake and retains its picturesque charm and examples of the island’s original Venetian architecture. Transforming into a yachters’ paradise come summer, the numerous tavernas lining its small harbour make the perfect setting for a long, leisurely lunch with a side of people-watching.

set on a hillside above agia efimia, where the coastline of northern kefalonia curves gently into the ionian, camara is an off-plan residence conceived as a contemporary interpretation of mediterranean island architecture. positioned on a 4,167 sqm (44,853 sqft) plot with uninterrupted 180-degree sea views, the villa has been designed to sit quietly within its landscape, combining natural materials, restrained geometry, and open living spaces shaped by light, air, and horizon.

the approach follows the contours of the terrain through native planting and low stone walls before the property gradually reveals itself through a sequence of courtyards, shaded terraces, and arched openings. the architecture balances clean contemporary lines with softer, tactile elements drawn from the island itself — textured plaster, pale stone, oak detailing, terracotta roofs, and pergolas that filter the afternoon sun across the outdoor living areas.

at the centre of the residence, the principal living and dining spaces open entirely toward the sea through oversized arched glazing. the interiors have been envisioned with a calm, monochromatic palette of warm limestone tones, natural timber, linen textures, and sculptural built-in forms that allow the surrounding landscape to remain the visual focus throughout the home. high pitched ceilings with exposed timber beams introduce volume while maintaining a sense of intimacy and softness.

the kitchen sits directly beside the main living area beneath a vaulted ceiling, designed as a social and functional space equally connected to both the interior and outdoor dining terraces. long sightlines continue uninterrupted through the house toward the infinity pool and the coastline beyond, reinforcing the villa’s relationship with the surrounding landscape at every moment of the day.

camara will include six en-suite bedrooms distributed across the main residence and an independent guest house positioned discreetly within the grounds. each suite has been planned with privacy in mind, opening toward private terraces or landscaped sections of the property while maintaining open sea views. the material palette remains consistent throughout, combining stone, limewashed textures, soft oak finishes, and natural fabrics that respond quietly to the ionian setting.

outdoors, the estate unfolds as a series of interconnected living areas designed around the panoramic view. a heated infinity pool stretches along the front terrace facing the sea, bordered by sun loungers, planted gardens, and shaded pergolas. nearby, a sunken fire-pit lounge introduces a more intimate evening gathering space, while an outdoor fireplace, barbecue area, and large dining terrace create distinct zones for outdoor living without interrupting the openness of the site.

further within the grounds, a private tennis court has been positioned independently from the main house, alongside a wellness area incorporating a gym and sauna. mediterranean planting — lavender, olive trees, rosemary, and low native shrubs — has been integrated throughout the landscape to anchor the architecture naturally into the hillside and reduce the visual impact of the built volumes.

agia efimia itself remains one of kefalonia’s quieter harbour villages, known for its protected bay, sailing culture, and easy access to the island’s eastern coastline. from the villa, both the harbour and nearby coves remain within close reach, while the elevated setting preserves complete privacy and uninterrupted sea views throughout the property.

as evening light settles across the mountains opposite and the sea begin s reflecting the final amber tones of the day, the terraces remain sheltered beneath the pergolas, with the water of the pool merging almost imperceptibly into the horizon beyond.
