Located 18 miles down valley from Aspen, Basalt is well known for its Gold Medal trout fishing in the Frying Pan River. Ruedi Reservoir is also a popular regional destination for boating and other watersports. Basalt is a hub for mountain biking in the Roaring Fork Valley. When in Basalt, get outside and enjoy yourself Whether you’re looking for some relaxing fun or an adrenaline spiked adventure, there′s an abundance of outdoor pursuits at your disposal.
Nestled near the beginning of Ruedi Creek Road, this family retreat on 35 acres of woodland, meadows, wildflowers and wildlife has a creek running through it. There′s plenty of room to roam, fish, hike, cross-country ski, snowmobile, or just sit by the creek. What′s more, the boat launch area at Ruedi Reservoir is two minutes away. With a main house, a 3-story remodeled cabin on the creek, plus a guest cabin, there is plenty of room to accommodate the whole crew. The outdoor living space is abundant You′ve found it - a truly authentic mountain compound for creating life-long memories.

THE MAIN HOUSE - The heart of the retreat. Filled with light and mountain charm, the inviting main house is designed for gathering. A stone fireplace with log mantle is the centerpiece of the open main living/dining area that opens to a wrap-around deck that looks out to a field of wildflowers. Walls of windows stretch to pine cathedral ceilings and a gas stove in the dining area adds extra coziness. The light, bright, and roomy office loft that looks out to the surrounding evergreen forest is sure to inspire. All three bedrooms feature sliding glass doors that open to a deck or balcony for taking in the natural surroundings. An oversized 2-car garage, plus an agricultural building/woodshop are adjacent to the main house. And, perhaps best of all, there′s a large stand-alone patio surrounded by nature that′s perfect for entertaining.

GUEST CABIN - Steeped in history, yet updated for today. An original Ruedi cabin from 1941, this delightful guest cabin tucked in the woods across the meadow from the main house has been pleasantly updated with all the comforts of home. There′s a small kitchen, a sunny sitting and dining area with a skylight, plus a bath with a shower. A gas stove will keep guests cozy. The windowed loft sleeps two or could easily accommodate three kids. Guests can take a seat on the front porch with their morning coffee and watch the passing wildlife.

THREE_STORY REMODELED CABIN - Set on the creek and lives like home Set along the creek, this second original Ruedi cabin has been ingeniously expanded to three levels that are all connected by a spiral staircase. Each level has an outdoor living space via a wrap-around patio or deck. Guests will fall asleep to the sounds of the rushing creek in the bedroom on the lower level with adjacent full bath. A stone patio that accesses a path to the creek is ideal for bird watching. The main living area on the second level features an updated kitchen with granite countertops, handsome cabinetry and stainless-steel appliances, plus a living and dining area overlooking the trees and the creek. A propane stove in the corner provides warmth. There′s a half bath on this level. Tucked away in the loft is a cozy office/den with a skylight. With outdoor access on three levels, this cabin feels like a treehouse but better

Garage is detached, heated and has the laundry room for the compound. There is also a large agricultural building next to the garage that is used as a wood shop and storage.

There are three residences: main house, three-story remodeled cabin plus guest cabin. These residences are known as 270, 290 and 300 Ruedi Creek Road. They are also known as 15154 Frying Pan Road.
