some homes are just houses. this one is a story.
built in 1885, clover valley farm is a rare italianate victorian offered fully furnished on 20.67 private acres in the schoharie county countryside, where the mountains are your backdrop , the pond your mirror, and the silence the luxury. prefer less land the home may also be purchased with just 2.57 acres, as the remaining 18.1 acres are a separate parcel.
the architecture alone stops you. bracketed cornices, broad overhanging eaves, tall narrow windows with hood moldings, and hand-painted sunburst porch panels showcase 1880s craftsmanship. mahogany porches were rebuilt, the roof replaced, and 26 windows updated, honoring the home′s character while protecting its future.
step inside through the original mahogany double doors. refinished wide-plank pine floors, a grand turned-spindle staircase, period woodwork, and crown molding create warmth only time can build. the living room centers around a gas fireplace, while the updated kitchen with quartz countertops, new cabinetry, and stainless appliances opens to a sunny breakfast room. updated electrical, a new well, tankless water heater, and low-profile radiators provide modern peace of mind. four spacious bedrooms capture sweeping catskill views, while two renovated baths, including a clawfoot tub with beadboard wainscoting, complete the home.
outside, a stone patio and fenced yard offer a private retreat. wake to mist over the catskills, spring wildflowers, and brilliant fall color. the schoharie beverage trail, mine kill state park, and windham mountain are all nearby. albany is one hour, saratoga 90 minutes, and nyc 2.5 hours away. close enough to everything. far enough from it all.
