facing the sea, in the historic heart of cadaqués, the casa staempfli is a unique property, considered one of the most emblematic architectural works of the costa brava.
designed and rebuilt in 1958 by the renowned architects peter harnden and lanfranco bombelli for the gallerist and collector george staempfli, this house-museum emerged from the encounter between modernist architecture, contemporary art, and mediterranean landscape.
dominating the bay of cadaqués with timeless elegance, the property harmoniously integrates into the identity of the village while asserting an exceptional architectural personality. conceived as a true inhabited sculpture, the house continuously interacts with light, the sea, and the surrounding landscapes.
throughout its history, the casa staempfli has welcomed great artistic figures of the 20th century such as salvador dalí, marcel duchamp, isamu noguchi, harry bertoia, and xavier corberó. as a true meeting place for international artists and collectors, it has contributed to the unique cultural splendor of cadaqués.
the property today offers various levels of refined living with spacious lounges open to the bay, elegant suites, sculptural fireplaces, spaces bathed in natural light, a private garage, as well as spectacular terraces suspended over the mediterranean.
each architectural detail reflects a subtle balance between modernity, minimalism, and mediterranean tradition: noble woods, artisanal ceramics, sleek lines, and openings designed as artistic frames over the landscape.
its iconic water-mirror terrace facing the bay creates a stunning visual fusion between architecture and the mediterranean.
just steps away from the historic alleys, art galleries, and crystal-clear coves of cadaqués, casa staempfli represents a rare opportunity to acquire a historical and architectural property of exception.
