the views are protected forever: unbroken state land for miles to the south, sheer cliffs across the lake where nothing can be built. beyond lies lake pend oreille itself, an alpine lake more than a thousand feet deep and the most singular water in idaho. the stone-clad main residence__fiber-reinforced concrete faced in hand-laid stone, with radiant heat from gas and wood-fired boilers__offers 3 bedrooms, 5 baths, steam shower, sauna, and toto neorest fixtures throughout. spring-fed creeks slip beneath handcrafted stone bridges to a stone-walled garden and greenhouse beside the house, while a remote, deer-fenced meadow holds a rose garden, orchard, berry beds, and honeybee hive.
