Magnificent Noble Palazzo with Vineyard in Franciacorta
Located in Colombaro di Corte Franca, this monumental noble palazzo dates back to the 15th century, when it was commissioned by the powerful Lana de′ Terzi family.
Its imposing appearance took shape in the 17th century, following extensions commissioned by Guerriero II Lana, a nobleman from Brescia renowned for his military campaigns against the Turks.
The architecture combines the austere character of a fortified rural residence with the elegance of a stately country estate. The property surrounds a magnificent courtyard of honour, enclosed by high walls and featuring a centuries-old Cedar of Lebanon. An elegant tower overlooks the estate.
Inside, original decorative features dating from the 15th to the 18th century include majestic coffered wooden ceilings, period stuccowork and frescoes depicting heraldic coats of arms and military motifs celebrating the family′s history.
A charming private chapel completes the complex, which enjoys an elevated position overlooking the surrounding hills and its own vineyards. Recently restored under the supervision of the Italian heritage authorities, the property awaits its final finishing touches.
