Honolulu
Honolulu means “sheltered harbor” or “calm port” in Hawaiian and is the capital and most populous city of the Hawaiian state in the United States. Since 1845, the city has served as the capital of the Hawaiian Islands, and it gained historical significance during Japan's attack on Pearl Harbor which occurred near the city in 1941. Queen Emma Summer Palace
Between 1857 and 1885, Queen Emma and King Kamehameha IV would flee to this secluded mountain-home and summer retreat to avoid the oppressive heat of Honolulu. The home, which is known locally as Hānaiakamalama is on the National Historic Registry and is available to visitors to explore personal items and interior furnishings of the royal family. Dole’s Plantation
Dole Plantation, located on Oahu's North Shore, offers a variety of family-friendly activities such as the Pineapple Express Train Tour, Plantation Garden Tour, and Pineapple Garden Maze. The Pineapple Express Train is a twenty-minute ride that includes complete narration on James Dole, the creator, Hawaii's most renowned fruit crop, and other pineapple-related stories. The Plantation Garden Tour will take you through eight mini-gardens with the most diversified crops found on the North Shore.
