Sentosa, meaning "peace and tranquility" in Malay, was developed by the Singapore government in 1972 as a domestic tourist attraction and a cable car, musical fountain, museum, underwater world, etc., was built to provide a rich and enjoyable holiday life. Later on, the "Universal Studios Singapore" theme park was built in 2006 and was officially opened in 2011.
